The SMSCom Mk2 Twin Fan Speed Controller is a compact and updated version of the previous SMS Com Twin Fan Speed Controller. Plus it includes an IEC power cable and socket to make it that extra bit easier to switch to longer cables when necessary.

What is the SMSCom Mk2 Twin Fan Speed Controller?

This is the 7amp Mk2 version of the SMSCom Twin Fan Speed Controller. It’s one of SMSCom’s most advanced models in their range. It enables growers to regulate intake and extractor fans to fully control the indoor climate of their grow room. It features two sockets on the front of the unit and 3 controller dials. The first control dial allows you to set the minimum fan speed. Whereas the second control allows you to set the desired temperature which the controller will maintain throughout the grow room. The 3rd controller is for setting the maximum fan speed, which is incredibly useful when using oversized duct fans.

Furthermore, this system will control the speed of both inlet and outlet fans. The handy temperature sensor probe will maintain the temperature you set within the control. These systems are extremely good for growers looking for a cost-effective solution. However, do be aware that they make a slight humming noise when in use.

How to use the SMSCom Mk2 Twin Fan Controller                             

To use this controller start by plugging in an inlet fan to the left-side socket named “Fan Air In” and plug an outlet fan into the right-side socket named “Fan Air Out”. Then place the temperature sensor in the centre of the grow room at around the same height as the top of your plants. Although, make sure that it is not placed in any direct sunlight as this will affect readings.

After that, you’ll need to set the minimum and maximum fan speeds as well as the room temperature using the 3 front control dials. Then you can plug the system in and switch it on.

However, it is important to set the minimum fan speed high enough to remove enough stale air from your grow room. This is because if the fan speed is set too low there may not be enough fresh air to replenish the CO2 levels. Therefore causing a negative effect on plant growth.
