The Omega Metal Halide bulbs are fantastic for increasing the vegetation ability within your plants. They feature a far more blue spectrum of light in order to decrease plant stretching.

What are the Omega Metal Halide Bulbs used for?

The Omega Metal Halide Bulbs are the perfect grow light for increasing your plant’s vegetation ability. These grow lamps use a blue spectrum of light, which plants need when in a vegetative stage. Likewise, this spectrum of light also prevents plants stretching and instead enables them to grow far more dense, ready for the next stage of flowering.

Furthermore, these grow lamps produce a colour temperature of 6400 Kelvin, the colour along with the high intensity of this lamp helps to produce a shorter and bushier plant. Likewise, these lights do not produce as much light in the orange and red spectrum, instead, you would need to use an HPS grow light as soon as your plants flowering cycle begins.

Where can the Omega Metal Halide Bulbs be used?

The Omega Metal Halide Bulbs are for use within a standard E40 socket fixture. You will need to make sure that you use this with an HPS ballast and not a dedicated MH ballast. Ideally, you will want to use a ballast with is relative to the wattage of your lamp.

How to use the Omega Metal Halide Bulbs                                   

When using the Omega Metal Halide Bulbs it is important that you hold the grow lamp using a clean cloth and avoid touching any part of the glass. Likewise, you need to make sure that the lamp is free of dirt and fingerprints before switching it on, otherwise, this can result in breakages. To fit the bulb simply use the E40 fixture on your reflector and make sure to tighten the bulb up to its maximum. If you do not screw the lamp in enough you may cause arcing within the system. After that, connect your reflector cable to your ballast and ensure that the wattage matches up to the lamp if it does not this can result in damage and fire.

However, when switching the lamp on it does run very hot, you must avoid touching the lamp as this will cause fires or burns. Allow plenty of time for your light to cool down before handling. Make sure that you avoid spraying liquid on the fixture too.
