What is this Digital Grow Light Kit used for?

This particular digital grow light kit is available with a choice of two different 600w bulbs. There is the option of a Lumenlite metal halide or dual spectrum bulb. Metal halide bulbs operate with a blue spectrum, making them perfect for increasing the vegetative growth of your plants. Whereas Dual Spectrum bulbs output in both the red and blue ends of the spectrum, making them usable throughout plant development. If using a metal halide, you will need a HPS bulb for flowering. Likewise, metal halide bulbs will help to keep plants stretching to a minimum, helping to create bushier plants.

Also included within this kit is a parabolic reflector. These help to produce an even spread of light within your grow room and eliminate hotspots. The Parabolic Reflector utilises its unique folds and angles to ensure that light is emitted precisely. This ultimately results in over 95% efficiency and is able to reflect light better, making it more useable for plants. With this reflector, your lamp mounts vertically to allow heat to transfer away from your plants.

Furthermore, you’ll also receive a LUMii 600w digital dimmable ballast. The LUMii Black Dimmable Digital Ballast is an incredible and highly adaptable product. It is lightweight and produces minimum heat with a sleek and stylish finish. Likewise, its completely variable settings make it perfect for almost any grower. It provides four different lighting options in one ballast, including 250w, 400w, 600w, 660w boost mode.

How to use this Digital Grow Light Kit                                     

When setting up your grow light kit you’ll need to make sure you have enough space within your indoor grow room.

Firstly, you will need to place the ballast on a firm and flat surface, they should not be placed on carpets due to fire risks. Connect the input lead of the reflector to the output lead of your ballast and make sure that the cable does not come into contact with anything hot. Next, make sure you tightly screw the lamp in into the bulb-holder in the parabolic reflector and that your reflector is at the correct height. You may want to invest in either Rope Ratchets or Jack Chain to securely suspend your reflector from the ceiling.

However, it is important to remember that you should only use the power output in regulation to the output wattage of your lamps. Therefore if you are using a 250w lamp you should only use this ballast at 250w. You can use this ballast to give a 10% boost, but only on the 600w setting. Once you have selected your chosen output wattage, connect the ballast up to your mains plug and switch it on. The ballast will then light your lamp up slowly.
