What is the 6″ Cool Tube Double Ended Reflector used for?

The 6″ Cool Tube double Ended Reflector helps to keep grow room temperatures down, which is incredibly important during the warmer months. It features a heat-resistant glass tube containing an E40 lamp-holder at each end. By using 2 lamps it’s much easier to light larger grow room spaces. Although, you can also use one HPS and on MH lamp to provide light in both the red and blue end of the spectrum.

Furthermore, air is blown through the cool shade using a 6-inch extractor fan. This then transports the hot air out of the grow room. Plus, the reflector doesn’t get hot, so you can place it closer to your plants to improve effectiveness.

How to use the 6″ Cool Tube Double Ended Reflector             

This particular reflector work best with 400w or 600w HPS or MH lamps. start by hanging the reflector over the centre of your grow room. You may want to invest in either Jack Chain or Rope Ratchets in order to suspend the reflector securely. Then, using a clean cloth, screw your bulb into the fixture. It is important that you screw it in securely, otherwise, it can arc and cause damage to your fixture. After that, connect your ducting and extractor fan to the cool shade. You should connect the extractor fan to the inlet side of the reflector so that it blows air through rather than sucking it inside. Finally, turn on the fan and then connect your ballasts to the lamps inside of the reflector.

However, please be aware that HID lamps do run at a hot temperature, therefore you should avoid touching the lamp and ensure you give it plenty of time to cool down before handling.
